ROOTED is a six-week residency that helps people build real community, find their footing, and become more connected in the cities they live in.
how does it work?
[Weeks 1–2] You get clear on who you are in this new context. what you need, what you have to offer, and what's been getting in the way.
[Weeks 3–4]You meet your people. Small cohort, shared meals, real conversation. Community built on purpose — not by accident.
[Weeks 5–6] You become part of the city. Civic connections, local stakes, and you have a firsthand look on where and how to get involved.

Become a kinfolk ambassador
Kinfolk Ambassadors are local connectors who walk alongside new residents, helping them feel seen, supported, and at home in Tulsa.
Whether you're a parent, entrepreneur, artist, faith leader, or just someone who remembers what it felt like to be new — you may be the guide someone’s been waiting for.
Kinfolk Ambassador Stipend
We believe the labor of care should be compensated. Kinfolk Ambassadors receive a stipend as a thank-you for their time, energy, and leadership throughout the Rooted™ experience.
Compensation Overview:
Base Stipend: $300 for each 6-week cohort
Performance Bonuses (up to $200):
$50 if your participant stays engaged through all 6 weeks
$75 for contributing a storytelling artifact (audio or video)
$75 for submitting 3+ verified local resources (housing, wellness, etc.)
Total potential compensation: $500 per cohort

No problem! Rooted™ is its own experience. While it shares values of intentionality and connection, you don’t need to have attended a KIN gathering to apply.

Yes. Kinfolk Ambassadors receive a base stipend of $300 for participating in the 6-week program, with opportunities to earn up to $500 through additional engagement bonuses.

We recommend choosing one path to fully engage in the experience. If you’ve lived in Tulsa for a while and want to give back, consider being a Kinfolk Ambassador. If you’re newer and looking to connect, apply as a participant.

We use shared identity, life stage, communication style, and community interests to pair participants with Kinfolk who align with their journey. It’s not just a match — it’s a mirror.
